Alleppey: A Tranquil Encounter with Kerala’s Backwaters
Ashraf Ali
- Last year, I had the chance to visit Alleppey, and it quickly became one of my favorite places. The moment I arrived, I was captivated by the laid-back atmosphere that enveloped the town. Life here seemed to move at its own unhurried pace, with no one appearing particularly awestruck by the stunning beauty of the backwaters that Alleppey is famous for.
The steady hum of the engines on the backwater boats was a constant presence, never ceasing in their movement. These boats, both large and small, navigated the waterways for hours, even days, on end. The scene was both mesmerizing and humbling, a reminder of the simple yet profound connection between the people of Alleppey and the timeless waters that define their lives.
